Thursday, November 20, 2008LED - Forefront of Technology and Green too!![]() LED's are at the forefront of technology and are definitely the wave of future in nearly every application that deals with lighting. The most exciting facet of LED's is their "green" factor which we are all about here at grow lights! LED's last longer that traditional lights which means less waste and more savings for you inn the long run. There is also less heat produced from LED and thus less heat waste which means less environmental changes at or around the LED's. LED's also are able to be aimed at specific targets to provide useful light in small areas. Lastly, LED's tend to be safer due to their ability to use less energy, and thus they provide less of a risk for fire and injury. These are just some of the LED's benefits and we are more excited to see what will comee around the corner!

Monday, November 10, 2008Accesories![]() Don't forget the accessories when creating your own grow light system. When dealing with fluorescent lights, they run cooler than traditional lights but can still get very hot. You can deal with this heat and protect your plants by placing a cooling fan in or around the canopy. The added benefit of this is the increase in bulb light due to the decrease in heat which can save you significant amounts of money in the long run for a very small upfront investment.

Thursday, November 6, 2008Small Space for Growing?
It's my firm belief that the people who tend to benefit the most from home grown products are the people with the smallest amount of space. Unlike the past, its now possible to have smaller grow light systems that do well in confined spaces. This allows you to grow the freshest vegetables or flowers possible indoors at anytime of the year. One of our best products for small spaces is the 2' T5HO Sunblaster Kit. This kit is a simple, low cost solution for tight spaces that allows you to have all the benifits of indoor grow lights in a tight space such as an apartment.
